DREAM MACHINE MUSIC LAB

Bass, Robots and Hot Algorithms!

For this Chaos Camp a dream team of composers, hardware hackers, performers and musicians has come together to design the interactive music lab of the future.

On board are the music performance collective The Cybernetic Nightingale around theater maker Veit Sprenger and composer Thies Mynther, with filmmaker Sandra Trostel aka Filmgizmo, Piko_ithea (also known from Chaos Communication Choir) and music doctor Jonas Hummel. The artists Moritz Simon Geist and Alwin Weber and their team contribute additional musical robots.

This eclectic mix of people from the Chaos environment will build a music lab that will function both as a participatory installation and as an environment for some concertante-theatrical performances.

The interested audience will be presented with hacked and robotic instruments and, on an immersive stage for public display, hung acid rave and indulgent future chansons.

It's all about loitering saints, automatic prophets and ambient shopping!

There will be mechatronic drums, xylophones, marimbas, automated tongue drums, capacitive mini-synthesizers, a soundsysten, digital pianos, kalimbas, melodicas, harmonicas, recorders, recorder organs and of course computers!

We will show new compositions, songs, lyrics and research results from sessions and workshops of the current year. Pls see the Fahrplan and Wiki for sessions and special events.
